A business that has grown usually looks like several different ones

Most growing businesses collect their brand in pieces: a logo from the early days, a website built later by someone else, slides in one blue and an email signature in another, and every event banner designed from scratch. None of it is wrong on its own. Together, it tells a new client that your business is smaller than it is.

Branding for professional services fixes that at the source. It decides what your business should feel like and why, then turns that into rules and files anyone on your team can use, so every place a client meets you looks like the same business.

Brand work for the stage your business is at

Brand work comes in six forms, from a cleaner logo to a new brand planned with the website, and each one starts from where your business is now.

  1. A new brand

For a business starting out, or one that has outgrown a do-it-yourself look.I start with the strategy: who the brand is for, what it should feel like, and the thinking behind it. Then the logo and the full identity follow from that.

  2. A rebrand

When your business has changed: a new model, a new audience, a new offer. The strategy is rethought first, and the visual identity is rebuilt to match it, so the brand describes who you are now.

  3. Logo design or redesign

A new logo, or a cleaner version of the one you have, with a small mark that still reads at the size of a browser tab, an app icon or a social profile.

  4. Brand guidelines

For a business that already has a logo.A document that sets out what the brand stands for and why it looks the way it does, then the rules your team and every supplier can follow.

  5. Brand assets

The pieces your team uses every week, designed once and done properly:the favicon, the email signature, social templates, presentations, print pieces, event materials such as a canopy, flags and pins, and merchandise.

  6. Brand and website together

The brand and the website planned as one project, with one plan and one fixed price. The brand is built for the places it has to work, starting with the site, and the site is built on the brand from the first page. For the site itself, see website redesign services and new websites.

From the first call to files your team can use

A brand project runs in five steps, and the design moves at the pace of your reviews, so your proposal gives the dates.

  1. The 30-minute call.I look at your site, your profiles and a few of the things you send the way a new client sees them, and at what AI assistants say about your business; if you’re starting out, we talk through what your business needs.

  2. The proposal.Within two business days: the scope in your words, one fixed price and the dates. It’s valid for 30 days. A deposit of half the price starts the work.

  3. The discovery session.A short guided intake and one call about who the brand is for, what it should feel like, and what has to stay. “Decide for me” is a valid answer.

  4. The direction, then the design. You approve the direction before the logo and the identity are drawn. Two revision rounds are included.

  5. Delivery. The brand guidelines, the logo in every format you’ll need (for screen and print), the colour values and the assets, yours once the full amount is paid.

The brand and the site, planned from the same thinking

When the brand and the website are planned together, each decision is made once and carried everywhere. The colours in the guidelines are the colours on the buttons. The small mark is the favicon Google shows next to your name. The words that describe the brand are the words on the home page, written in the brand’s voice and tone. And the same name and description, repeated everywhere, is what search engines and AI assistants read to understand who you are.

That’s the strategy I mean: the visuals and the website, planned together from the same thinking, so each decision is made once and carried everywhere.

Brand work from a family of graphic designers

Lucas Cubillos Mialani, founder of Cubilani, smiling outdoors at night

I’m Lucas Cubillos Mialani, and I grew up around design: my parents are both graphic designers, and the eye for logos, colour and type I bring to a brand comes from them. My MBA in business and marketing, finished in 2019, adds the other half, because a brand has to make a business understood and chosen as well as look right. I’ve built brands for businesses, and websites since 2020, so you explain your business once, to the person who designs the brand and builds the site.

Questions businesses ask about branding and web design

How much does branding cost?

Every brand project is quoted for your business after a free 30-minute call, at one fixed price agreed in writing before any work starts. What moves the price: a new logo or guidelines for the one you have, whether the strategy needs rethinking first, how many assets you need, and whether the website comes with it as one project.

What is branding in web design?

Branding in web design means the website is built on the brand: its colours, type, logo and voice decide how every page looks and sounds, and its description tells visitors and AI assistants who the business serves. Branding sets the rules; web design applies them to the pages clients read and use. Planned together, the two agree from the first page.

Can one studio do my branding and my website together?

Yes, and that’s how Cubilani is set up. I plan the brand and the website as one project, with one plan and one fixed price, so the logo, the colours and the words on the site come from the same thinking. You can also start with the brand and add the website later.

What if I already have a logo?

Then I build on it. If your logo works, a new one can wait: many brands only need clear guidelines and a set of assets around the logo they have. If the logo itself is holding the brand back, a redesign can keep what people already recognize.

What do brand guidelines include?

The essence of the brand and the thinking behind it, including why the colours and shapes were chosen. Then the rules: colours for screen and print, type, where the logo goes and how it’s used, and the patterns that make the brand recognizable without the logo. Your team and any supplier can follow it.

Do I need a new website at the same time?

No. Brand work can be a project on its own, and if your site works, it can wait. If your site will change soon anyway, planning both together means the site is built on the finished brand rather than adjusted to it later.

What do I get at the end?

The brand guidelines as a document, the logo and small mark in every format you’ll need for screen and print, the colour values, and the assets in your proposal. On final payment, the logo, the guidelines and the final approved brand files are yours. Editable source files are included when your proposal lists them, or can be added at an extra cost.

How long does a brand project take?

It depends on the scope. Guidelines for an existing logo are the quickest; a new brand or a rebrand takes longer because the strategy comes first. Your proposal gives the dates, and the work moves at the pace of your reviews.
